Our Cretan home is going to be in a village called Angeliana, close to Perama and Panormo, in the Prefacture or Provence of Rethimnou (Milopotamos).
After several 'let downs' and 'false starts' we seem to be seeing the light at the end of the tunnel.
We had been looking for a piece of land last September (2010), along with our friends Andrew and Maureen Morek (who had found themselves in the same position as us). Unfortunately, our holiday came to an end before we found a suitable site, but Andrew and Maureen stayed on and found this piece of land. They called us, full of excitement, and told us about it, and sent photo's of the area. They were really enthusiastic, and so, trusting their judgement , we said 'go ahead'!
Finally, after all the normal procedures of buying the land, the searches, building permits, plans to the archetects etc we now have a cleared piece of land awaiting the next stage of development.
Its been such a long time coming. We hope and pray that nothing will go wrong now to prevent the dream from becoming a reality!
Our thanks go to Dave Wood our webmaster, for setting up this website and also for his forthcoming role as photographer to the build of our two homes. This will give us the great opportunity of seeing our homes built on a weekly basis, and the knowledge that Dave, and Cathy will keep us informed of everything that is going on. This will give us piece of mind as we are so far away.
